My best friend is currently asleep on the couch just a few feet away from me as I sit here and reflect on the great day that the two of us had yesterday.

Yesterday, April 1 began with a 2 hour phone call with my best friend as he left work, went and cashed his check then ordered me a sub from Subway and came over to my place – my one bedroom apartment that I spent all night cleaning so he’d have a place to stay.

He is getting through that break-up quite well, so well in fact that I got him talking again to the woman who is going to be the mother of his daughter in about a month. He talked to her for about an hour on the phone as well before arriving at my place…

…and that is where the adventure begins.

Yesterday was spectacular – which is why there was no posting from me. I spent the entire day along side my best friend and he got to reconnect with someone who quite legitimately is another best friend of his. After talking to her for so long, we agreed to all meet up and go out and watch the new Batman vs. Superman movie and grab something to eat.

He paid for it all as he and her reminisced about their past and their lives especially over the last couple months. I was so happy to be able to watch all of that take place. Him her and I spent several hours together and I didn’t feel like a third wheel at all. In all honesty I was extremely happy to see it all take place. I love seeing my best friend happy.

It was about 6 or 7pm that we left her place and went over to a new friend of his from his new job. My best friend wanted to get trashed at a bar, his new friend’s girlfriend had cheated on him and wanted to get trashed as well. So at 10pm we all went out to a bar in Lansing MI and my best friend got quite trashed BUT I was there right along side him to make sure nothing bad happened to him.

His stupid relationship that took place over the past three months put me under a lot of stress, but I love him and that is all there is to it. I had, perhaps the greatest day of my adult life yesterday with him by my side.

I’m looking forward to many more days like that in the future.
